This oriole sized bird is most closely related to leaf birds. The sexes show strong sexual dimorphism as evident in the pics below. Click on the pics to load them in high resolution.

Adults feed primarily on fruit (mostly figs of the genus ficus) and forage mostly in the canopy making them quite difficult to spot and photograph at eye level. In Goa this bird is found in the wildlife sanctuaries forming the western ghats.
